We believe that we have just coined a new word, one that could carry two plausible meanings of the word "Memoir":
1. The "family memoir," with all the dysfunction and bitch-slapping that goes with such memoirs.
2. The "Famous Person Memoir," those wild and woolly bestselling books that are usually poorly written but are about people we know, such as the shallow Donald Trump and Kim Kardashian.
As far as we know, we are the first to use this word in these contexts -- at least a cursory glance via Google does not show these words being referred to as family- and/or famous people-based memoirs.
However, we are open to giving credit where credit is due.
This coined word could be used as a book and/or film title about a crazy-town family or a famous person.
We suspect the latter definition will be the most popular usage because Americans love tell-all memoirs by famous, albeit shallow, people.
